Things have been happening in Stoneybridge land.
Windmill is now whirling, chickens have been installed in 'Chickenopolis', and raised beds of the vegetable garden, constructed and filled - things are even growing!!!
There is even an 'odd' shaped flower garden - not yet filled (give us time), and the weather has been marvellous. Nearly all the trees and bushes that had to be transplanted because of the construction have survived, and apart from the water supply outside our fence being ripped up yesterday, by a JCB, everything in the world is rosy.
To be truthful the Scottish Water were providing us with new water supply pipes when the contractor decided the water looked better on the surface. Having achieved this, they then 'knocked off' for the weekend after filling in the hole where the pipe was broken!!!!!! Surprisingly....... yep!! it filtered to the surface during the night and we now have a scenic, artificial fountain to add to our flower garden.
STOP PRESS!!!!
Nammy has named the light brown chicken...wait for it....... 'SHORTCAKE'!!!!!!
Only another 11 chickens to name now.

nice windmill!!!
Sounds a bit par for our water company, but they usually leave holes in the road leaking until the whole road vanishes... Yeah this is true, only yesterday on a shopping trip, did we find a 2 foot wide by 1 foot deep wet depression, which we carefully negotiated over, on returning from our shop trip, it had widened some and the local polis had parked a panda car by it with some borrowed cones. Today its 10 foot deep and shored up with steel shuttering while the contractor works on the deep 12" diameter cracked pipe. of course we now have a single track road with the dreaded traffic lights that seem to have a very strange timing, 2 mins in one direction and 30 secs in the other, perhaps its more clever than I thought, maybe it knows about tidal flow and commuting patterns?
I bet you don't get these problems in your delightful patch...?
Can we have some more pics, your construction story is getting interesting, specially the wind generator, and the self sufficient chicken arrangement, I assume you will eat the eggs and compost the waste, just be sure to not get confused in which action applies to which function...
Keep up the news, it is so interesting.. Thanks.
